Tanauan, Leyte, a town strategically located in Eastern Visayas, has recently been exerting efforts to become the Skimboarding capital in the Philippines. Will this development spur the economic growth of the municipality? Will this attract investments? How will this affect the small and medium enterprises in the locality? Can the Local Government Unit support the development? Is this what we really want to do? Or are we just blinded by the promise of modernization that we are ready to step back and allow our community to be transformed into a business hub where the characteristics of big cities will soon be adopted by our hometown?
