Forget about it being turned into a boarding house! Nobody ain’t gonna pay to board in there!!!

Kamusta na ang nakaraang pista?? Damo an mga hubog?? Break a leg man!!!!!

  6. Harupay,

I believe this is the work of nature-the gradual erosion of the beach. And this needs the attention not only of the Tanauan LGU but by the Provincial Government as well!! Or maybe you should consult one lady blogger who used to contribute to this page and she would tell you it is because the people have sinned!! Pure crap!! Ain’t it??Well this is a free country.Mabuhay!!

I have written sometime ago something about erosion problem.I AM NOT AN EXPERT ON THIS PARTICULAR FIELD!! In that particular country the erosion problem was really serious. What they did was fill the sea near the beaches with “STAR SHAPED CONCRETE”.And the problem was solved.Of course they spent money.Lots of them!!

And I am also toying something on my restless mind. This is just a wishful thinking:Would a breakwater dissipate the erosion ???? Just asking!! Start preparing for next year’s town feast celebration!! Keep on blogging!! This is what the administrator needs!! Bloggers with all sorts of blogs!!!!!!!

  7. Han masulog pa an embarcadero river, waray kita hini nga problema. Yana la nga haros stagnant na it embarcadero nga lumutaw ini nga problema. Kay ano nga naging stagnant an embarcadero? If somebody can provide the answer then we can up with a logical cause and effect and a possible solution.

  8. RB,

Kairo man niya!! An salog Embarcadero!!! Diri an LGU!!

KAYA DAPAT LAMANG NA KUMILOS NA - HABANG ME PANAHON PA - ANG MGA KINAUUKULAN NG BAYAN NG TANAUAN UPANG DI LUMALALA ANG SULIRANING ITO. O HIHINTAYIN PA BAGO ANG SUSUNOD NA BOTOHAN!! ANG SAGWA ANO!!

HOY GISING!! TIGILAN NA ANG PAGBUBULAGBULAGAN AT PAGBIBINGIBINGIHAN AT BAKA TULOY MATULUYAN!!!

NB: SA NAGTANONG SA AKIN SA “GUEST BOOK” KUNG ANO NA ANG MABUTING NAIAMBAG KO SA BAYAN NG TANAUAN,ISA NA INI MAN:ANG MAKITANONG KE RIOSBANOS!! MAUPAY NGA AGA!! SEE YOU REAL SOON!! ON THIS PAGE!! BREAK A LEG !!!!!!!

  9. RB,

And I thought a feasible study for six months of the proposed edifice ( MERKADO HAN BUNGTO) is already in progress!! How’s the going man?? With the feasible study!! Just curious me!!

  10. From a senior citizen, I would venture an speculative guess to my own question: Before man intervened, the natural outlet of Binahaan river was the seashores of Tanauan through the embarcadero and (I am not sure to what extent) Bukid river. Now it is in San Joaquin. I can’t think of any other direct link with our erosion problem but this diversion. Sand naturally lost to the tides are naturally replenished through the annual floodings that bring in silt and sand from the mountains. Because man intervened the replenishing process is not happening. Now we got stuck with an erosion problem while San Joaquin is selling surplus sand.

  11. I would like to share some of my observations and comments on our new municipal building:

    1. Landscaping - I don’t know if this has been ruled out in the design process but I don’t see any, especially at the front of the building facing Real street. Plants and trees can serve as “buffers” to control noise beside its natural aesthetic purposes. Too much concrete paving compromises water percolation, which could contribute to flooding during heavy rain especially if there is no existing drainage in place.
    2. Exterior windows - are these glass windows “impact rated“? Since our region is frequently visited by typhoons, non-impact rated windows (and doors) are vulnerable to damage. Another alternative maybe to use “storm shutters” to protect them.
    3. Guardrails at the second floor. The design is nice, but they are not seem to be safe. There are portions of the design where a 4” sphere can pass through which is quite a concern on safety for little kids.
    4. Accessibility - haven’t seen the layout but I wonder if this has been taken into consideration, such as accessible toilets, sizes doors, etc. to help facilitate mobility of disabled persons.
    5. Insulation is another important factor in the design since there are AC’s being used. It can be a big impact in lowering energy cost. Also important are the vents which could lessen the build-up of heat in the attic space.
    6. I also notice the use of incandescent bulbs in the exterior of the building. Incandescent bulbs are not too good for general lighting purposes since they only generate about 10 lumens per watt gives off more heat. LED’s and CFL’s are one of the best for outdoor lighting.

  12. Mr.H.G.,

YOU ARE THE BEST BLESSING ( NO YOU ARE NOT A THING) THAT HAS HAPPENED TO TANAUAN MUNICIPALITY!! FINALLY THE BEGINNING IS VISIBLE!! BEGINNING OF THE RIGHT PATH FOR THE REAL ADVANCEMENT OF TANAUAN!! NADA DE TAPAL-TAPAL SYSTEM!!!

PERO SIR,BAKIT NGAYON KA LANG LUMITAW? SANA SUMALI KA O IKAW ANG NAMAHALA SA SIMULA PA LANG NG GUSALING YAN AT NANG SA GANUN DI NAGKABITINBITIN AT DOBLEDOBLE ANG EXPENSES. KUNG SA BAGAY MAAARI NAMANG TAWAGIN ANG CONTRACTOR NIYAN!! DI BA!! SINO KAYA ANG PROFESSIONAL NG CONTRACTORS NA YON?? BAKIT IBA ANG EXECUTION NIYA ANO??

THANKS GOD FINALLY AN AUTHORITATIVE SOUL HAS SEEN THE “CRACKS” OF THE BUILDING!!! THANK YOU VERY MUCH ARCHITECT HECTOR GOMEZ!! TANAUAN MUST HAVE MORE PEOPLE OF YOUR KIND!! YOU’RE DOING GREAT SIR. TE ESTIMO MUCHO SENIOR GOMEZ!! SI!!

MORE POWER TO YOU H.G. AND YOU BE THE INSPECTING ENTITY OF EVERY MUNICIPAL PROJECT TO ASSURE CORRECT CODES.LET US HOPE!!
TAKE IT EASY ON THE POLITICS!!

GOOD AFTERNOON (1300 HRS HA AMON SULOD YANA) TO YOU!!

  13. continuation…

    7. Are there any drains provided for the AC, as well as the planters at the second floor? Constant dripping of AC condensate may cause staining on the floor, and the absence of drain for the planter may become a maintenance issue.
    8. Parking space requirement, another major consideration for projects like this. Those spaces should be properly delineated/striped, especially for handicap parking closest to the entrance of the building; also the ratio of the number of parkig space to the floor area. A lot of folks in Tanauan already have their own vehicles, and I think it’s time also for the town to enact an ordinance to ensure that the parking space requirement be included in the design of every public buildings and commercial establishments–no more parking along the streets that only blocks the flow of traffic.

LASTLY, the LGU should appoint, at the soonest, an Architect to act as the Building Official so that any projects requiring permit will be properly reviewed and scrutinized if they are indeed compliant with applicable Codes and other aspects of design. The National Building Code, under Rule II Section 203 (6) estates: Appoint a Building Official, SEPARATE AND DISTINCT from the Office of the City/Municipal Engineers in all Cities and Municipalities. Republic Act No. 9266, The Architecture Act of 2004 provides that positions in government requiring the expertise of architects shall only be filled by registered and licensed architects (RLAs).

  14. Sulodnon… diri ak hiton interesado kay aadi ak ha langyaw nga labnasan, and my observations are not meant to stir up politicians or any persons involved in that project either.

  15. With regards to the modernization of the “merkado”, if this indeed going to push thru, I don’t want to see our local government spend the tax money and the folks involved are not the rightful professionals in the field (of architecture). Kanugon it kwarta ngan efforts if the design is very poor and ineffective in terms of its purpose. I’ve seen a lot of government projects designed by non-architects and the outcome is very poor indeed, not to mention that they are violating the professional practice intended only for architects.

  16. H.G.,

I was afraid you’d say that. You have your reasons and I fully respect them and you! More power to you!!

Of course what you have done is just proper AND NOT MEANT TO CREATE DISCORD AMONG THOSE CONCERNED!! And ACCIDENTS ARE NOT TO HAPPEN AND UNNECESSARY EXPENSES AVOIDED IF ALL THOSE BUILDING CODE VIOLATIONS/ANOMALIES ARE REMEDIED THE SOONEST!!

LET’S HOPE “THEY” WAKE UP AND REALIZE THAT TANAUAN HAS PROFESSIONALS SUCH AS YOU WHO WON’T LET ACCIDENTS HAPPEN BECAUSE OF BUILDING CODE VIOLATIONS BY INCOMPETENT AND “PALM GREASE HUNGRY CONTRACTORS”!! A BUILDING OFFICIAL IS REALLY NEEDED BY THE TOWN!! AN HONEST ONE AND NOT CRONY OF ANYONE IN THE TOWN ADMINISTRATION!! A QUALIFIED ONE!! NOT A “STRING PULLER”!!

At “MOLUPYO”!!

More power to you H.G.God bless you wherever you maybe!! See soon on this page!!

  17. H.G.,

There is just one thing that I’d want you to enlighten me!! It’s about these nasty practice that I think should be eliminated . TOTALLY FOR GOOD!!!!

It is the UGLY practice of (not only) politicians of having their names ( and if possible also of their unborn grandchildren) SPLATTERED ON EVERY FRONT OF PUBLIC PROJECTS ACCOMPLISHED that is to me- an eyesore!! Why can’t politicians accomplish public projects sans MAKING THEM APPEAR DIRTY WITH THEIR CHEAP PERSONAL COMMERCIALS AS IF THE FUNDS FOR SUCH PROJECTS CAME FROM THEIR PERSONAL BANK ACCOUNTS!! IT’S THE PEOPLES MONEY!!

Where I’ve been I’d seen vast government projects under such and such politician’s administration.NEVER HAVE THEY SPLATTERED FINISHED PUBLIC PROJECTS WITH THEIR NAMES.WHAT THEY PUT UP DURING THE PROGRESS OF THE CONSTRUCTION IS A SMALL BILLBOARD WITH ” YOUR TAX MONEY AT WORK” AND THE NAME OF THE PROJECT!! ALRIGHT THEY PUT SOME SMALL MARKERS. THAT SIMPLE !!

What the local politicians are doing-splattering all finished public projects with their names-is annoying!! Is this nasty practice an integral part of the politics in the Philippines? IT CAN NOT BE A HERITAGE!! IT IS UGLY IF IT IS!! OR MAYBE IT IS A PART OF THE FILIPINO FOLKLORE!! IS IT?? WHAT IS THE EXPLANATION OF THIS??

    Thank you!!!

    [Reply here]

  18. I agree with you on this. You hit the nail right in the head! If you notice on private projects, the name of the CEOs are not displayed on billboards. This should be the same with politicians.

As to your last question, I think it’s their way of saying to the people “I made this for you” or “You can count on me”… but the bad thing is, it is often misunderstood by political adversaries. So this should be avoided out of “delicadeza”. Sometimes na “backfire” kon palpak it project. Para waray suson, upayon it pag-handle hit project. Sering pa didi ha langyaw: Do it right the first time — everytime!

  19. I believe this has something to do with the diversion of flow of the river. The Binahaan river was closed so that the natural flow of water in the rivers in Tanauan will not overflow in case of typhoons. It has been noticed that erosion in the shoreline of tanauan started when the Binahaan river was diverted to other waterways.

  20. Willie,

Tuma-
kas siya papuntang Hapon.Natural tumangay din siya ng kayama-
nan ng mga tao.Makaraan ang ilang taon bumalik siya.Di directa sa bansang yon.Sa kalapit na bansa.Malas niya at me extradition treaty pala ang magkalapit bansa.

Subalit sila e NAGBUBULAGBULAGAN AT NAGBIBINGIBINGIHAN. Wag naman sana silang matuluyan!!

KAYA SA MGA NAGLUKLUK SA MGA DAPAT GUMAWA NG PARAAN-
AT NGAYON NA-UPANG MASOLUSYUNAN ANG SULIRANING YAN NG “COASTAL/BEACH EROSION AT EMBARCADERO RIVER STAGNATION
NANININIWALA ANG MGA MARURUNONG NG TANAUAN,NA NAPAPA-
NAHON, NA MAGSAMASAMA ANG LAHAT UPANG KALAMPAGIN ANG MGA DI NAMAN BULAG AT BINGI SA MUNICIPIO UPANG KANILANG BIGYAN PANSIN ANG SULIRANING YAN!!! HOY GISING !!!!
